Group Art for Kids (4-7 years) *New Program Starting Jan 2027*
In weekly small group art lessons, young artists ages 4-7 are encouraged to create, explore, and discover art together! Through a balanced blend of process-based and guided art projects, art students are introduced to fundamental art concepts and techniques, while experimenting with different artistic mediums. Throughout the program art students will discover the work of prominent artists, broadening their creative inspirations!
Group Art for Kids (8-12 years)
In weekly small group art lessons, young artists ages 8-12 are encouraged to create, explore, and learn about art together! Through sketchbook activities and portfolio projects, art students are introduced to fundamental art concepts and techniques, while experimenting with different artistic mediums. Throughout the program art students will explore the work of prominent artists, broadening their creative inspirations and developing their own unique artistic styles!
Private Art Lessons (ages 6-12)
In weekly private art lessons for kids, young artists receive individualized support and encouragement to create, explore, and learn about art! Through sketchbook activities and portfolio projects, art students are introduced to fundamental art concepts and techniques, while experimenting with different artistic mediums. Throughout the program art students will explore the work of prominent artists, broadening their creative inspirations and developing their own unique artistic styles!
Afterschool Clay Club for Teens (12+) *New Program Starting Jan 2027*
In this weekly afterschool clay program, teen artists are encouraged to explore art, create with clay, and connect with other young artists in a fun social setting! Through hands on projects, art students are introduced to fundamental hand building techniques, including pinching and pulling, slip and scoring, slab construction, coil building, and more. Each week, students will create a new clay project, with one painting session each month providing an opportunity to add colour and bring their creations to life!
Optional Private Art Lessons for Group Art Students
Enrolled group art students have the option to book an additional one hour private art lesson each month. These optional lessons provide an opportunity for students to receive individualized instruction, explore specific interests, practice specific techniques, or spend extra time developing their artistic skills. These private lessons are available by request and must be booked in advance. To arrange a lesson, simply reach out by email to request available dates. There is no ongoing commitment, allowing students to book extra lesson time whenever it suits their interests and schedule.
Pre-registration is required and space is limited for all programs. GENERAL STUDIO POLICIES
Studio Calendar
Art With Jai Studio offers programming throughout the year. Art lesson semesters typically run from January to May and September to December. Summer camps, pop up classes, workshops, and seasonal events are offered throughout the year and are announced on social media and at www.artwithjailen.com.
No regularly scheduled art lessons are held on New Year's Day, Easter Sunday, Canada Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, or New Year's Eve. If a lesson falls on one of these holidays, it will be rescheduled to another available day that week whenever possible.
Payments & Refunds
Registration is confirmed once payment has been received. Unless otherwise stated, fees are non refundable and non transferable.
If Art With Jai Studio must cancel a lesson, class, or event due to severe weather, instructor illness, or circumstances beyond control, participants will be offered a rescheduled date, refund, or studio credit. (During severe weather, I follow closure decisions made by local schools and transit authorities.)
Email is the primary method of communication for program updates, schedule changes, and important announcements. Participants are responsible for ensuring their contact information remains up to date.
Health and Safety
Participants who are experiencing a fever or other contagious symptoms are asked to remain home. We appreciate your cooperation in helping provide a safe and healthy environment for all participants.
Assumption of Risk
Art activities may involve the use of paints, glue, scissors, clay, and other art materials and tools. While reasonable safety precautions are taken at all times, participation in art activities is at each participant's own risk. By registering, participants acknowledge and accept the inherent risks associated with arts and crafts activities.
Photography and Media
Photographs of artwork, studio activities, and the creative process may be used for educational and promotional purposes, including social media, the studio website, and printed materials, unless a participant or parent or guardian requests otherwise.
Artist Etiquette
Follow all safety instructions.
Be respectful and kind to instructors and fellow artists.
Treat the space, artwork, tools, and materials with care.
Wear clothing suitable for painting, clay, glue, and other messy art materials.
ART LESSON PROGRAM POLICIES
Pet Friendly Studio
Art lesson programs take place in my cat-friendly home located in the east end of St. John's. The studio address is shared with registered participants prior to their first visit. Prospective families are welcome to arrange a visit before registering.
Attendance and Missed Lessons
Students who are unwell should remain home. When advance notice is provided, missed lessons may be rescheduled based on instructor availability. Lessons missed without notice are not eligible for rescheduling.
Drop Off and Pick Up
Children must be dropped off and picked up by a parent, guardian, or another approved adult listed on the registration form (unless alternate arrangements have been communicated in advance). To ensure smooth transitions between lessons, families are asked to remain in their vehicle until the scheduled lesson start time and to arrive on time for pick up.
